Strategies for combating economic corruption and bribery in offices from the perspective of the Quran and hadiths

Abstract

Corruption is a phenomenon that exists more or less in all countries of the world; but its type, form, amount and extent are different in each country. One of the types of corruption is bribery and bribe-taking, which has moral, cultural and economic corrupting consequences and has been examined in this study as an economic corruption; because it is often carried out with money and property and in this respect has an economic aspect. The purpose of this study, which is written in a descriptive manner, is to introduce and present Quranic and narrational solutions to prevent economic corruption of bribery. The findings of the study show that bribery is a major obstacle to the implementation of divine law that helps incompetent people to be appointed and betray in performing the assigned task. Therefore, Islam considers bribery a sin and has threatened its receiver and giver with divine punishment.
